Project for Week 2009 01 11

Project for Week 2009 01 18:
Progress was made on many fronts, although it was small progress

Ok, here is an update on the progress on the Firebird. Engine dyno work is done.

This week 2009 02 14 we brought the engine home, stripped the control arms off the front end, cleaned them up, Powder coated them and installed new bushings and ball joints. A very good week.

There was two gatherings of the car nuts this week.
We:
Cleaned the frame and painted it.
Installed the control arms back on the frame.

Not much needs to be said other then it was a REAL STRUGGLE!

Due to the great turn this week of Lenny Ball, George Nick, Ken Long,  Frank Serafine, Don Doane, Ron Richardson, and Enzo Addamo

We:   Made a dash board

We had two meetings of the Car Nuts this week. We had Lenny Ball, George Nick, and Don Goodman.

One of the things we attempted was to install the fabricated Aluminum Valve Covers. The carburetor was installed. The dash with all the stuff mounted on it was put back in the car.The drive shaft was sent out, balanced, and new solid u-joints installed. The starter has been installed for good with a heat shield.

We had a great turn out of the Car Nuts this week. We only had one meeting as I thought going to the Dentist on Wednesday would be more fun then crawling around on the garage floor, I guess that shows how smart I am!

We got a number of tasks completed, fuel line routed from front to rear, rear axles pulled (splines counted), Dashboard wired, and more patch panels.
We had a great turn out of the Car Nuts this week. We had two meetings this week and the progress shows it!

We had
(left to right) Jim Boehly, Lenny Ball, George Nick, Ken Long,  Vince Falco,  and Don Goodman (not pictured).

We got The floors prepped and painted, the rear axle pulled for the second time (more on that later), and the brake system installed and bled.

We got The front clip on, sifter bolted in, weight reduction done on the front bumper, some wiring done, and the radiator set in place.

We got the rear end sealed up and oil added, Radiator and electric fan installed, Exhaust system build and installed, Throttle cable routed so as not to bend the cable, shifter installed, started the engine.
