Due to the great
turn this week of
Lenny Ball,
George Nick, Ken Long, Frank Serafine, Don Doane, Ron
Richardson, and Enzo Addamo
We:
Made a dash board
|
 |
For a change in pace we moved to the interior
of the car. There are a lot of projects that are hanging waiting for
parts (starter, Fuel line, Wiring Etc.
I'm glad we had some experts in fabrication as I was a little lost
never having done anything like this |
 |
The first step was to cut some tube to conform
to the upper lip of the dash. George is holding it straight, and
passing alond expert measuring, while that fat guy in the
orange shirt is cutting a crocked cut in the tube to fit over the
dash. This crocked cut hunted us through the whole project. |
 |
Now that we have the upper tube, we have to
duplicate it for the lower tube. |
 |
Here we have the upper and lower tube in place
and spaced apart whit raisers. Now we can try and skin it with
metal. |
 |
Ok, who took this complementary shot of the
fat guy. You wait until I get my hands on the camera. |
 |
Have you ever heard the joke "how many men
does it take to screw in a light bulb? I hope that when they meet
that the cut actually joins up. |
 |
Well I guess the cut did join up. |
 |
 |
 |
Now if only I could weld. I did get some warp
age from heat, and some porosity. As I have stated before this is my
first attempt at something like this. It is far from perfect, but it
will hold gauges and switches. I need to keep going so that I make
the April 14 date. I really do not think I will make that but I will
keep tiring. |
 |
Here it is in primer. |
 |
Mounted in the car. Now I have to do a layout
of the gauges, switches, MSD box, etc. |
