Project for Week 2008 15 08
This weekends project Remove the
Dash, Gas Tank, and Rear Bumper
|
I enlisted the efforts of all the members of
Rochester Street Rods and Finger Lakes Classic Chevrolet clubs and
had Good turn out.. We had Len Ball, Dick Yellen, Frank Serafine,
and George Nick.
Lenny Ball started reading the NHRA rule
book and under Modified Stock (because that is what class I was told
that I was in at Leister) and found that the interior had to have
carpet, dash and rear seats all in stock level in order to pass an
inspection. I was already to start putting all that stuff back in
when Frank showed up and said no you are E/T Class which does not
require that stuff.
All are welcome Saturday mornings 9 to when ever. |

|
Christmas came early and the new fuel cell,
fuel filter, and fuel pump arrived from Christmas Jegs.
|

|
Someone should tell these workers, real men
don't need sticking instructions.
It turned out that removing the dash was
the tough job.
Everyone there had a hand in this job, and
at one point in time everyone was in different positions trying to
remove the dash.

More parts for E-Bay |
 |
 |
Not to forget the second task of the day which
was to remove the rear bumper, old gas tank and position the new
fuel cell and battery box |
 |
 |
 |
We will build a tube frame to support the
bumper cover and reinstall that to retain stock appearance. |
 |
George timed it well and showed up just in
time for the AN fitting presentation.

presentation.
