At some point in the past an owner removed the 396  BB and installed a 400 SB. Although the SB 400 was a strong running engine, I have always wanted a BB. I have a friend that keeps telling me "There is not replacement for displacement"
Start of the fun? Today the new engine arrived. A 454 Mark 4 build to LS-6 specs. That is 450 Horsepower, 450 Foot Pounds of torque.
Guess I have lots of parts to find and buy. Lets get it uncrated and see what we got. This engine was purchased from Tuff Dawg Engines, also known as D&J Machine & Performance Engines, 518 East Dunlap Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85020-2916. Their phone number is (602) 395-0800. I have been dealing with Darl Mumal. I have asked may questions and he has been very responsive. If you call him mention my name. Thanks

Here is there web site http://www.tuffdawgengines.com/

Well I have some of the parts. Quite frankly at this point I did not realize how may more parts were going to be needed to complete the project.
We are in the process of moving the engine to it's new home. As you can see I am getting lots of help from good friends.
In it's new home where it actually ended up staying for close to a year.
The process of removing the 400 SB has started. I sold the engine on E-Bay.
More parts removed
This is the first time I have ever put anything in the back of the truck. Makes for nice storage. Hope I do not scratch the paint!
There is a big hole. Something is missing. The SB is gone! Boy that engine compartment is ugly. Maybe I will just spend a few hours to clean it up and spray it up with some spray cans.
Well it is only a few bolts and I can take the front clip off. Sure why not.
Yep, I think I will go for it.
Oops, something is missing. What could it be? Did I scrub to hard?
Oh, I found what is missing. It is now in it's new home, on the back porch. My wife loves me.
Now we have two vehicles in the same condition. If this keeps up we will not have any left to drive.
One thing always seems to lead to another. Lets see if I take this bolt off I should be able to clean here also.
I really do not understand, Parts just seem to keep coming off. I'm going in the wrong direction.
