Ok, we had it running last Saturday, but had a
coolant leak on the right head
So this is what it looked like Saturday
afternoon after it ran. On this side you can see the coolant (water)
on the floor, It was leaking from the head gasket right above the
number 6 cylinder
So we got the car nuts
together along with the boss (better half) and took it apart, again.
We could not find any evidence of a leak,
but solid copper gaskets are know for leaking when you run coolant.
so .....
We cleaned all the surfaces up.
And put it all back together again.
And with lots of help from good friends got
it back together in no time
So while we were at this point Jerry from
Meziere Enterprises had made a suggestion that we plumb the pressure
side into the expansion tank to make the system self , and
constantly clearing of air. A new line was plumbed from the intake
to the expansion tank (an ne bung was welded into the tank to do
this. The location makes it hard to get a good picture.
The engine was fired up and all leaks are gone
and the new line does just what it should.
These are the open tasks that need top be
completed before going to the track on the 27th.
