Made the pilgrimage to
Indiana again.
Lots of progress to
report. Body is really coming together. Engine and transmission may
be fitted next week. I can get in and out of the vehicle. Cockpit is
very comfortable. The gauges are to low and the dash will have to be
remade (you can only see the top half of the gauges when sitting in
the cockpit). Shift light and low oil pressure warning light will be
mounted out on the engine. Switch pannel will be below the gauges. The pictures
below are a mixture of ones that I have taken and ones that
Roo Man
has taken.
Helmet pad bars have been fabricated
The front engine motor plate has been made up.
It will bolt to between the timing cover and water pump.
Body work is well on the way. We will start
with the area behind the rear engine plate
The body work to cover the roll cage has just
started.
A lot of sheet aluminum has to be bent and
shaped here as this will also be a chute pack body.
Next up is the engine area.
The front of the engine opening is big enough
to accommodate the future blower drive. Note the leading edge is
rolled over and a bead has been run around the inside. Nothing but
class.
The front.
The forming of the nose.
Bottom of nose is is sitting on top of the
body.
Note tight straight over lapped stepped seams.
Next trip out will be in about two weeks. Note the Master taking a
break.
