Good morning.  My name is Arthur Lever and I am looking for a job in Hot Rod Fabrication.  I have gathered the skills to do this through formal education and practical shop work application.

Currently, I am a student at The Hot Rod Institute which is a school specializing in the creation of custom vehicles.  I have completed the Hot Rod Chassis Fabrication class and received both the highest overall average and the highest grade on the final exam for that class.  I am now enrolled in the Hot Rod Body Fabrication class.  Each class is three months long and I will graduate at the end of June.

My project vehicle at the Hot Rod Institute is a 1949 Fleetline DeLuxe 4 Door Sedan style 1009 - 1208 (Special).  I am converting it to a Gasser to be raced in the Western New York Gasser Racing Series.  I have a web site where the progress of that vehicle can be followed: http://www.leverfamilysite.com/1949_Chevrolet_gasser_Root.htm.

My work experience includes:

Mendon Collision, Mendon, NY

Please do not contact Mendon Collision without talking with me first as I do have a job there that I can return to if I cannot find a fabrication job. Left Mendon Collision to attend Hot Rod Institute. While an employee, I became proficient at analyzing body damage and utilizing the proper tools and techniques to repair it.  I practiced the proper procedures for metal finishing, along with the application and sanding of filler.  My ability to work efficiently in a high-speed shop environment was also further refined.  I was taught to multitask and finish numerous repairs as fast as possible, while simultaneously learning the job billing procedures.

Vintage Auto, Scottsville, NY

I was hired as the body and paint man.  I was responsible for service work on classic automobiles.  The shop has closed because of money problems.  In my time there, I was able to complete a full paint job from bare metal through final sand and buff. I cut, shaped and replaced metal on multiple VW Beetles including an entire heater channel, multiple front fender patches, an entire rear clip, and other miscellaneous floor patches.

B&C Restoration Webster, NY      General repair duties

In my spare time, I have rebuilt and restored my own 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The 1969 Oldsmobile project has not yet reached completion and is ongoing for six years.  Every challenge I tackled on the car has taught me something valuable and brought me closer to where I am today.  Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of the complete project. Details of that project can be seen here http://www.leverfamilysite.com/1969_Oldsmobile_Cutlass.htm

If you feel that I might be a good fit in your shop, please call me at (585) 402-3500 or e-mail me at arthurlever@ymail.com
