Ok, here is the long lost update for the Week
of 2009 06 21. It is actually a depressing update as after two runs
down the track with the rebuilt engine it is blown up again. This is
the story of getting it out and find out what damage has been done |
Well I picked a great day to pull the engine
out to see what is wrong. Come on don't give me a hard time I know
it has been a long time since I put out an update. This is a
depressing topic. Two runs down the track and the engine is toast
again. |
We have to get the car from the foot of the
drive way into the garage out of the rain. I wonder what the best
way to do that is? |
I know get a bunch of good friends over and
take as much weight as you can off the car and then put the expert
from Fire Ball Racing behind the wheel and push it up the driveway. |
Ok, the front clip is gone. |
Up the driveway it goes. That was all I had
planned for, but it was decided by over welling odds that the engine
had to come out. |
To keep the troops happy you have to feed
them. |
So I hope I did not miss anyone, it has been
over a month since this meeting of the car nuts, from left to right
Barry Moore, Steve Walzack, Jim Boehly, Lenny Ball, Vince Falco, Don
Goodman, Tom Deyle, and my son George Lever who was taking the
pictures. That's right, you might even see another picture of the
fat guy in the orange shirt again. |
There was a traffic jam on Hearthstone lane
this evening. |
So here is the project. |
An this is how we get it out. Oh my gosh there
is the fat guy in the orange shirt. I swear that is the only shirt
he owns, and ever time he is in the picture, there is no work going
on. This project would move faster if he would just stay home. |
Engine mount bolts coming out, well at lest
Tom is doing some work. |
Almost out. |
Pulled the plugs and found this. They were all
gapped when they went in. Looks like a sign of what is to come. |
Lets open the bottom and se what we can see
Does not look good, there is metal pieces! |
I do not think that the two bearing half's are supposed to be staked
one on top of the other. |
Pictures are worth a thousand words at this point. |
What to do, what to do, I know, lets spend
some money, lets build a stroker! |
